She needed a miracle
So she did exactly
What she was warned not to do.
She quietly waited
Until they were all fast asleep.
Then, she retrieved the keys
From his desk.
Silently creeping,
She snuck
Up the dark, winding stairwell.
And, she held her breath,
As she inserted the key.
The door creaked,
As she slipped inside,
And flicked on the light.
There they were...
All the glorious books,
All the knowledge
That he had kept hidden away,
In his private library.
She marvelled at all the literature
That her eyes beheld,
As she ran her fingers
Over each title.
But, she couldn't allow herself
To be distracted
By her love
Of study and learning.
She had to stay focused.
For, she was on a quest
And had a motive
That was clear.
Then, she found
What she had been seeking.
She recognized it,
As soon as she saw it.
It was the largest and heaviest
Book there.
She had spied him reading it,
When he needed
An ancient ritual or rite.
Taking it carefully down,
She wiped the dust
From the book's binding.
And, she whispered the title...
"Magic Spells and Incantations".
She flipped to the index.
And, there she found
Exactly what she
Was looking for...
"Spells of Love".
